Preair Obtained the Certificate of American Energy Star

Energy Star (ES for short) is a voluntary energy conservation plan led by the US Environmental Protection Agency, which covers laboratory low-temperature cold chain products such as ultra-low temperature, electronic products, household appliances, lighting equipment and construction products. The plan was launched by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the United States Department of Energy (DOE) in 1992 to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Later, it was gradually adopted by Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the European Union and other countries, with high market recognition, and more than 90% of the market recognition in North America.

Energy Star is a national consensus formed by the US Department of Energy, the Environmental Protection Agency, manufacturers, retailers, consumers and local governments, and has become a symbol of energy conservation and environmental protection. The ES logo is issued to efficient products whose power consumption is lower than the minimum power consumption standard. Facts have proved that the ES labeling measures taken by the US government have changed consumers’ consumption habits, improved consumers’ and manufacturers’ energy efficiency concepts, and effectively guided the market. According to the survey of the United States Energy Development Agency, 43% of consumers said they would choose ES when shopping. Today, ES certification covers more than 3400 kinds of goods in the United States.

Unlike the Energy Guide Mandatory Energy Efficiency Labeling Program in charge of the Department of Energy (DOE), ES is a voluntary energy efficiency labeling program. Its remarkable effect is to help consumers buy appliances with higher energy efficiency, and its ultimate goal is to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions.

The ES identification is a voluntary requirement. However, in terms of energy conservation management and energy efficiency standards, it not only plays an important role in the United States, but also has become an international symbol of energy conservation. At present, it has been introduced by Canada, Japan, the European Union, Australia and many other countries. In particular, the “Fourth Edition of Computer Energy Star Standard”, which represents the advanced symbol in the field of computer energy conservation, implemented in July 2007, makes it the market orientation of energy conservation products. Affixing ES energy efficiency label has become the most influential and successful energy efficiency labeling system in the United States. The products with the ES label indicate that they have obtained the energy consumption indicators approved by the U.S. Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency. Consumers mainly choose energy-saving products based on the label. At the same time, according to the federal decree, they can also obtain priority procurement from the government.

Household electronic products: such as TV sets, video recorders, cordless phones, DVD products, etc;
Heating and cooling equipment: such as heat pumps, boilers, central air conditioners, etc;
Computer and office equipment: such as computer, display, printer, fax machine, copier, all-in-one machine, etc;
Lighting equipment: such as compact fluorescent lamp, exit indicator lamp, ceiling fan, etc;
Industrial and commercial products: such as transformers, power supplies, commercial frying pans, commercial freezers, etc;
Large commercial buildings, newly-built houses, doors and windows, etc.
